My Choice Children's Homes provide nurturing homes for children, an independent school and training centre.  The organisation was established in 1999 and has grown to nine homes based in Surrey and Sussex.

We are looking for Trainee Support Workers who would like the opportunity to work in residential childcare, ideally with some experience of having worked in the social care sector voluntary or employed with children and young people, however limited or no experience is also welcome. You need to be keen to learn the skills required to work in a residential setting.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, maintain professional boundaries, exhibit resilience, recognise and respond appropriately to concerns, and work in line with safeguarding legislation, company policies and Ofsted standards.  An enhanced DBS check and thorough safer recruitment checks will be required for this role.

We are looking for college leavers or adults aged 18 – 21 to join our Trainee Support Worker 12-week programme, who may have achieved a Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent at college and looking for a full time employed role with a training programme attached. There will be support provided from the training department and Homes Manager.

If you already have a Level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care qualification this will be an advantage, however if you do not have this qualification we will provide training and support for you to achieve a nationally recognised qualification through the CACHE / NCFE awarding body (worth over £1000+). This will be following successful completion of the trainee programme.

We are offering a competitive salary, training session every two weeks and work our shift pattern alongside other Residential Support Workers, within our homes.
