Stonepillow in partnership with Crawley Council, have secured funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to extend the Accommodation for Ex-offender (AFEO) resettlement scheme.

This role will work hand in hand with districts councils, prisons Probation Services and DWP to support with positive outcomes for the clients. Using early intervention and prevention techniques, and with working with the National Probation Service and Prisons in the area, we will identify prisoners at risk of homelessness and rough sleeping on their release.

As an Ex-Offender Support and Resettlement Worker you will provide a seamless service to ex-offenders with a housing need to secure accommodation prior to their release through the private rental market and support them to become tenancy ready to ensure they are able to successfully maintain accommodation, and thrive in their local community upon their release.

Each case will be managed using a person-centred approach involving assertive outreach, individual needs assessment, and the provision of advice.

We are looking for individuals with a knowledge of welfare benefits, housing, homelessness law and policy, who are dynamic and have experience of working with vulnerable people and have knowledge of the barriers faced by people moving out of prisons.  You will also have experience of supporting these individuals to address their needs through effective casework management.

It is essential that you have a non-judgmental and enabling approach to supporting single homeless and vulnerable adults and have empathy with the health, housing and work issues facing ex-offenders.
