Led by an ambitious research and development strategy, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a full-time Psychology Lab Technician on a permanent basis as part of a continuing strategic initiative to strengthen and expand research and teaching in both Institutes.


Candidates for this role should have a strong practical working knowledge and understanding of software programs as used in Psychology/Sport and Exercise Psychology and associated investigative work as well as of hardware systems used in Psychology laboratory environments.


Working with staff team and students across both Institutes, you will among other activities, make a key contribution to the overall functioning of the Psychology Lab, including the key activities of providing specialist technical support to staff and students undertaking detailed scientific testing in the Psychology lab, contribute to demonstrating support and delivery, and actively participate in the implementation of our recruitment strategy. You will also contribute to our vibrant research culture and excellent student learning experience.


Ideally, candidates will have a broad range of research methods, knowledge and skills and will be committed to ensuring that our staff and students are well supported and enjoy their experience with us.


The successful candidate will be pro-active, enthusiastic and enjoy working as a member of diverse teams.


This is a full time, permanent 1.0 fte position. You will divide your time between the Institute of Education, Health & Social Sciences (0.5 fte) and the Institute of Sport (0.5 fte). We will also consider proposals for part-time, or job share arrangements.
