Assistant Finance Manager / Assistant Accountant

Salary £27,000-30,000pa + good benefits

A long-standing reputable client based in central Brighton is currently looking for an experienced accounts professional to join their Financial Controller in the newly created role of Assistant Finance Manager.

This will be a busy and varied position that will keep the successful candidate occupied and engaged on a day to day basis. You will help supervise 2 junior Accounts Assistants and deputise for the Financial Controller in her absence, whilst also providing cover for the Accounts Assistants themselves. Due to this, the successful individual needs to be happy operating at various levels within finance and very much a team player.

Main Duties:

• General bookkeeping / ledger maintenance.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Monthly accounts preparation.
• Assistance with budgeting and monthly management accounts.
• Assisting with the year-end financial statements.
• Assisting with VAT return.
• Help prepare payroll journals.
• Assistance with various internal finance projects.
• Overseeing 2 Accounts Assistants

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or towards the latter stages of their qualification. Part qualified candidates may also be considered. You will have sound experience at the Senior Finance Assistant / Assistant Accountant level and be looking for that next step in your career!
