About the Role

An exciting opportunity to work with the East Sussex Shared Lives and Supported Accommodation team has arisen. The role will be primarily working within the Shared Lives service; however the successful candidate will also be expected to provide support to the Supported Accommodation Team when requested.

You will be required to assess clients housing and support needs and match them to appropriate placements. You will also be responsible for conducting provider interviews and completing detailed reports for presentation to an independent Shared Lives Panel. Both of these roles require excellent assessment and interviewing skills and the ability to compile complex reports. You will also supervise providers and support them to provide quality services inline with CQC regulations, Shared Lives guidance and the client’s wishes. We offer support and services to all vulnerable adult groups making the role both varied and rewarding.

The post will be based in Eastbourne and you will be expected to work across the county and manage a complex caseload. Effective negation skills are essential as well as being able to organise and prioritise your own work in line with the demands of the service.

In return for your commitment you will be offered training and development opportunities and will be working within a supportive, motivated and friendly team. We strive for continuous development and positive outcomes for the people that use the service.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.

Equal Opportunities

East Sussex County Council is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit.
