About the Role
The opportunity for summer placements has arisen based with an established protected landscape partnership for students in their summer breaks or recent graduates. The High Weald Partnership is based in Flimwell (near Tunbridge Wells), East Sussex and all applicants must be able to travel to this location.
The High Weald AONB Unit is a small specialist team which works on behalf of the Partnership which comprises 15 local authorities and Defra. Its function is to provide advice on the conservation of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), an exceptionally beautiful medieval landscape covering 1461 sq km across the counties of East and West Sussex, Kent and Surrey, and protected by law as one of England’s finest landscapes.
We are looking for someone with to assist with GIS data creation, collection and quality assurance including the digitisation of historic maps and field survey records. Some experience of using ESRI or QGIS required. Additional training will be available.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
