About the Role

The High Weald is a medieval landscape covering 1461 square kilometres at the heart of South East England. It is one of the country’s finest landscapes and is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Engaging communications are crucial to encouraging increased awareness, understanding, enjoyment and conservation of this protected, but increasingly pressurised, landscape. The High Weald AONB Partnership is looking for a dynamic Communications Officer who can work with a myriad of different organisations, communities and interest groups to raise the profile of the AONB amongst local, regional and national audiences.

You will have excellent written skills and a high level of IT literacy to be able to undertake this key role which will include writing copy and sourcing images for a range of publications, developing sing traditional and new media channels, presenting at events and building the Partnership's contacts.

A knowledge and interest in the environment is desirable alongside a flexible approach which will enable you to deal with the broad scope of the AONB Partnership’s work and the variety of tasks undertaken by its small staff team.

The Partnership’s office is located in the innovatively designed Woodland Enterprise Centre at Flimwell which lies on the Kent/Sussex border between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings. Working hours are flexible and term time working can be considered.
