About the Role

This is a new strategic role creating, and delivering the vision for ICT and all communication services within the College. You will be providing the infrastructure and managing the team to deliver this vision, ensuring solutions are impacting on students learning, progress and outcomes, as well as providing efficient solutions for staff who deliver these outcomes.

The key responsibilities are to:-

1. To provide strategic direction and focus for the IT network, hardware, software and associated systems, including training of all stakeholders to effectively support the teaching and learning throughout all areas of the curriculum, both in College, and outside of the campus.

2. To oversee the marketing of the whole school and to coordinate communication with the media and the community.

3. To oversee the provision of a comprehensive digital and media resource support service, producing high quality documents and resources across the College, and using social media to support the College achievements.

4. To be the senior administrator for the VLE and the College website, ensuring they are kept up to date and relevant.

5. Have overall responsibility for the management of the school’s communications, including social media, print, marketing, public relations events management, and alumni relations.

There is a team of two reprographics technicians in a job share role, and IT technician and an IT apprentice to support you in this role.

Major investment has been made in the back end IT infrastructure this year, and the successful applicant would be expected to deliver front end improvements in end user desktop hardware, and software. Also to provide systems and solutions to improve efficiencies in support, communication and public image for the College, as well as minimising the likelihood of problems occurring, and when they do providing a fast and efficient response.
