About the Role

Robertsbridge Community College is the smallest secondary school in East Sussex. It is set in a picturesque 4 acres of grounds backing onto an area of outstanding natural beauty. It has a number of buildings dating from the 1950’s to 2014. The challenges are to improve the learning environment for staff and students on limited budgets, and the post holder will be key to improving the site.

We can offer the successful candidate a supportive working environment, in a school with excellent student, and caring staff team. We fully believe in enhancing the educational opportunities for our students and are seeking to develop a dedicated minibus driver role who will facilitate the transport of students to extra curricular activities, curriculum visits, fixtures, events and visits both locally and further afield, and you will be able to visit a range of different locations, attractions and historical landmarks.

The desired candidate will provide technical and software support to a busy secondary school.

You will be responsible for the upkeep and good order of the computer equipment, development of staff knowledge and skill using ICT resources and identifying and remedying software, hardware and network faults.

In conjunction with the IT Technician you will also advise on ICT Health & Safety in the school and monitor its practice.

Finally you will be responsible for the maintaining information contained on the school website, ensuring this information is relevant and up-to-date.

Additional Information

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits. This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).
