About the Role

High Hurstwood CEP School is located in a beautiful part of the Weald countryside. We are a popular school with an excellent local reputation. We benefit from being a Strategic Partner of St Marks Teaching School. We also work closely with a range of other schools through the Village Schools Alliance and the Wealden Education Improvement Partnership. We have high expectations of both staff and children.   We are looking for an excellent Early Years practitioner to work three days a week, to cover a member of staff's maternity leave. The successful candidate will have high expectations for their pupils and will be expected to work alongside their job-share partner in planning and delivering an engaging and exciting EY curriculum. Candidates will be expected to have a good understanding of how ICT can be used to enhance teaching and learning.

You will be expected to be sympathetic to the Christian ethos of the school and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills which will be evident in your relationships with children, staff, parents and the wider community.

We can offer the successful candidate: • motivated and well behaved children; • a friendly and supportive staff team; • well developed community links; • a re-developed and well resourced school, situated in beautiful countryside.

This position is part-time, 3 days a week (Monday to Wednesday).

Please contact the office to make an appointment or for further information.  We would very much welcome visits to the school prior to applications.

Additional Information

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.   This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).
