Purchase Ledger Controller / Accounts Assistant

Brighton, East Sussex

Full Time, Permanent (8.30am - 5pm)

Salary: £17,500 – 18,500pa + study support

Currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Controller to join a reputable and well established Brighton based organisation. This role has arisen due to an internal promotion. This organisation offer good learning and progression opportunities and will also support study for professional accounting qualifications.

This will be a busy role which will report directly to The Head of Finance as part of a medium sized accounts team. Some existing Purchase Ledger / general accounts administration experience is required in order to be considered for this role but it is still open to people at a junior level (candidates need to be familiar with general invoice processing). Alternatively, a capable and experienced Purchase Ledger professional looking for a change of scenery and fresh start would be of great value to them.

Duties to include but are not limited to:

• Coding, authorising and processing invoices – high volume.
• Reconciling supplier statements.
• Processing expense claims
• Undertaking weekly BACS and Cheque payment runs.
• Making payments online
• Maintain an invoice log of un-authorised invoices
• Managing aged creditors and producing aged creditors reports.
• Management of the Petty Cash
• Assisting the accounts team as required

Key attributes that are necessary for this role are good attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work quickly and effectively on own initiative. It is also necessary that candidates be familiar with Excel and have strong communication and time management skills.
