Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Construction, Commercial), Kent

They are committed to their in-house resources which allow them to deliver innovative solutions to the most challenging of projects offering multiple services including new build, fit out, engineering services and a range of specialist solutions.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will provide assistance to the Quantity Surveyor in managing the contractual, commercial and financial aspects of various projects and support operational teams in delivering projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
You will be expected to represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients. You must ensure information and documentation relating to contractual, commercial and financial issues is communicated effectively and carry out valuations and agree applications for payment at regular intervals. In addition, you must issue invoices, prepare project cash flow forecasts, manage payments as set out in the contract documentation and prepare and agree priced schedules of work.

You will prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports and submit final accounts within 1 month of the project completion date, you will also manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures, including negotiation of prices and obtaining quotations for works, materials and plant. You must prepare budget cost plans for each project and ensure schedules are completed within agreed timescales as well as monitoring timesheets and maximise efficiency of labour by controlling work hours.

Suitable candidates will have
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying
• Sufficient Construction experience
• Ambitious with high aspirations
• Excellent organiser with proven time management skills
• Numerate with good IT skills
• Excellent communication skills
