About the Role
East Sussex County Council is a very successful and ambitious authority with a strong track record of delivery. Due to the impending retirement of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Emergency Planning Officer – Public Health.
This post is responsible for providing strategic support and to take forward Public Health emergency preparedness, resilience and response, including business continuity planning. It also provides specialist emergency planning services to support the three East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups, as part of the Public Health Memorandum of Understanding, to discharge their duties under the Civil Contingencies Act.
The post holder will also support the Emergency Planning Partnership which exists between the County Council, four of the five district/borough councils and East Sussex Fire and Rescue and participates in the provision of the out of hours ESCC Emergency Planning Team on call rota.
The salary for this post is 30,394 - 32,831 per annum. In Exceptional circumstances, subject to the market position, consideration can be given to the payment of a market supplement.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
