Insurance Underwriter, Kent. Up to £22,000 plus benefits.

You'll be responsible for underwriting new and renewal insurance schemes in accordance with the authority delegated by the Head of Underwriting.
A key part of the role is the ability to develop long term relationships with brokers and use traditional underwriting skillsets with 'outside the box' underwriting to provide a leading edge service within the market.

The role will involve; Policy wording; creation, amendment and interpretation; Broker liaison; Responding to broker queries within a timely manner; Creating and delivering broker presentations; Underwriting compliance; Internal underwriting queries; Scheme notifications; Checking broker slips/scheme notifications; Preparation and distribution of endorsements; Production of TOB's; Projects as agreed with the Head of Underwriting;

Experience/qualities required;

Educated to degree standard
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English essential
Understanding of the travel industry a distinct advantage
Underwriting experience a distinct advantage
Influencing and negotiation skills
Taking initiative and driving change
Ability to remain calm under pressure
IT numeracy
