Senior Trading Motor Underwriter - Personal lines Kings Hill with free parking Up to £35,000 - £40,000 + excellent company benefits 35 hours per week, working 9am-5pm Mon-Fri Our client is a professional, market leading, dynamic specialist insurance company based in smart, modern offices. They are offering an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Trading Motor Underwriter to join their underwriting team. Role responsibilities: • Case level underwriting in respect of a range of risks including complex risks • Delivering on financial plans including working within financial budgets for the product • Acting as a point of referral for risks which exceed subordinate underwriters authority; managing, mentoring and training junior members of staff • Contributing to the management of portfolio performance through the effective underwriting of all risks, executing remedial action on the portfolio as required; in conjunction with HO staff • Close collaboration with all other business segments and functional areas, particularly household underwriting, to ensure alignment of the product activities to the wider strategy of the business • Assisting with the maintenance of business relationships with the major brokers and other distribution partners • Understand the impact of claims of risk management on the performance of a risk and demonstrate an ability to underwrite cases taking these factors into account • To ensure that you manage your own portfolio of work • To provide technical assistance and guidance to colleagues, other departments and business units within Personal Lines and work on specific projects as and when required Person specification: • Excellent Excel and analytical skills • Underwriting experience - Motor Underwriting • New Business Underwriting and development • Excellent communicator, interpersonal and relationship building skills • Self motivated • Degree level or equivalent For more information about this position and the company please contact Laura at Select Appointments.
