Compliance Officer, Kent. C£45k plus excellent benefits.
Conduct Compliance monitoring reviews and audits of the significant business processes to provide the business with assurance on FCA and PRA regulated business areas.
Promote and provide advice on best compliance practice within critical business areas including appropriate current FCA, PRA, DPA and Financial Crime regulations and requirements.
Ensure compliance requirements are adhered to by providing advice and support to the business on identifying and implementing necessary procedures, controls and changes.
Monitor, analyse and communicate new regulatory developments and legislation that affect the business and operation of the company and update departments working papers as necessary.
Provide guidance on financial promotions and regulatory developments.
Work with the Risk and Compliance Director to identify and resolve areas of issue / concern to aid the continuous improvement of the company.
Provide advice on inter-departmental procedures, regulatory supervision, financial, operational and other regulatory implications of new business proposals and products.
Carrying out training sessions with internal departments to update on regulatory issues and development as and when required.
Understand and implement oversight and audit requirements in accordance with SYSC rules with particular emphasis on appointed representatives and outsourcing to ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting.
Respond and give assistance on a range of queries in relation to UK regulatory affairs/compliance questions, clarifying requirements to ensure information provided is understood.
Assist in the provision of management information for board level reporting.
Contribute to risk and compliance initiatives and projects as required.
Skills/experience required;
Technical knowledge of UK regulatory requirements to include knowledge of FCA, PRA, DPA and Financial Crime regulations.
Strong analytical, research, judgement and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently, organising own time effectively and in the face of changing priorities.
Helps to develop and implement new ideas and approaches for the team.
Effective project management and report writing skills.
A willing and co-operative team player who builds rapport with colleagues and clients.
Flexibility to adapt as the role/company continues to evolve.
The ability to effectively communicate in all forms at all levels.
Results orientated – able to focus on specific targets and demonstrate target achievement.
Is aware of personal development needs and raises issues with manager to help improve effectiveness.
