We are currently working with a renowned company designing and supplying equipment for the construction industry in the areas for formwork, falsework and groundworks. Due to continued success they are looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to be based in London (near Heathrow).

Salary is from early to late £30?s per annum plus benefits including Pension scheme, life cover, medical, child care vouchers, and 23 days holiday.

Main duties/responsibilities:

Obtain a thorough understanding of customer construction requirements and site constraints in order to select and design an appropriate solution

Develop schemes and produce drawings for construction purposes ensuring compliance with British industry standards and health & safety legislation

Prepare quotations for clients

Using calculations to ensure designs are structurally sound

Design work will include beam and column design, falsework supports, wall formworks, groundworks schemes, etc.

You will also be responsible for the drawing office on the absence of the Drawing Manager, support staff and check drawings/design

Design/Produce manufacturing drawings for specialist formwork and components

Qualifications/Experience:

Experienced in the design of falsework, formwork, and groundworks

Educated to HNC or Degree level in Civil or Structural engineering (or construction related discipline)

Knowledge of scaffolding design

Able to design

Strong knowledge of building standards and health & safety legislation with regards to temporary works

Proficient with AutoCAD and use of structural design software

Designing structural elements and fabrications (aluminium, steel, and concrete)

Current driving licence, you may be required to attend customer sites
